Qatar to host first celebrity T20 cricket match with cricket legends next month

December is the month of the International day of People with Disabilities. To promote social awareness of the capabilities and contributions of the differently-abled people in the society, retired legends of Cricket from 11 countries will fly to Qatar & play a one-off friendly T20 cricket match on Friday, 20th December 2019.

Qatar Celebrity Cricket League (QCCL) is supported by the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) which is the official governing body for the sport of Cricket in Qatar. QCA is also the representative of the State of Qatar at the International Cricket Council and an affiliate member of International Cricket Council since the year 2000, also being an active member of the Asian Cricket Council. The QCA President – Mr. Yousef Jeham Al Kuwari has expressed his utmost gratitude towards this noble cause of the event and will be a part of the ongoing QCCL campaign.

QMISSION as an events company will be hosting this event as part of its corporate social responsibility and will show their appreciation to the workers community who have been supporting the growth in Qatar over the past many years. A sports event like cricket which is close to the heart of this community will be an amazing event, bringing them closer to cricket legends and giving them a chance to play the game with such great sportsmen.

Q MISSION aims to bring people together on one common platform through different sporting, musical events and many more.

QATAR CELEBRITIES CRICKET LEAGUE (QCCL) will be first of this kind in QATAR where 14 Cricket Legends across Australia, West Indies, England, India, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal & other countries will play the T20 MATCH. Each team will consist of 7 international legend cricket players & 7 local selected Cricket Players divided as two teams (Team HOPE & Team CHALLENGERS). 2 International umpires will also be the part of this event. 14 players will be selected by a renowned Global Coach to play alongside the 14 Retired Cricket legends.

The selection of Local cricket players will be done in a detailed selection campaign by QCA, which will run for 3 weeks prior to the main event. Selection criteria, dates & participation forms will be soon available on www.qccl.org.

Goodwill ambassadors from various awareness societies in Qatar & differently-abled people from the Qatar diaspora society will participate for this awareness campaign at the event.

Estimated to be a full house with audience, the aim of QCCL is to bring the global community on one stage and spread awareness of the differently-abled people in society. As a CSR campaign; audience tickets are priced at minimal of 30 & 70 QAR. School children and parents will get tickets on per the discounted norms.

Ticketing details will be announced soon. This event is hosted & organized by Q- MISSION as part of its social responsibility Goals in Qatar. QCCL will bring together each and every sector of society to participate in this noble cause to bring about awareness through this event and enjoy the game of cricket with legends on a united platform.
