Qatar to host African Football Super Cup until 2022

Qatar Football Association signed an agreement with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) stipulating that Doha will host the African Super Cup for the next three years.

The agreement was signed by H.E. the President of Qatar Football Association (QFA) Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al -Thani and the H.E. President of the African Union Ahmed Ahmed at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

The African Super Cup in Doha with the next edition will be held on February 14, 2020 .

At the beginning of this year, Qatar hosted the African Super Cup for the first time when the Moroccan "Confederation" champion of the Confederation succeeded in beating the Tunisian "champions" Esperance 2-1.

The Tunisian team will be a new guest on the Qatari capital, after retaining the Champions League title, where they will face the Egyptian Zamalek Confederation champion in its last version, on February 14, 2020.

After the signing of the agreement, "The General Secretary of Qatar Football Association (QFA) Mansour Al Ansari, said," After the last edition of the African Super Cup was held in Doha, we agreed with the African Union to host the three versions. Coming from 2020 ".

Al Ansari said, "The Qatar Football Association (QFA) and the local organizing committee have nothing to do with the participating teams, and the apology of any team for not attending Doha and not playing is a matter for the African Union, not the QFA.

He stressed that Qatar seeks to host major sporting events, the success of the last edition of the African Super, and our good relationship with the continental union encouraged us to sign the agreement.
