Qatar’s Tamadar wins round one of Doha Tour

Qatar’s Tamadar Saeed al-Marri clinched top honours in round one of the Doha Tour showjumping championship held at the outdoor arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation yesterday.

Tamazir, riding Outline De Beafour, clocked 75.48 seconds to emerge victorious ahead of Mardaf Mohammed al-Qashooti (Wendefi) 74.95 and Mohammed Khalid al-Qashooti (Alibaba Z) 74.92.

Saudi Arabia’s Khalid Abdulaziz al-Eid cornered the day’s glory with two victories in the four events that were held yesterday. Khalid produced a flawless routine with his ride Senorita to win the top prize in the 140/145cm class and later won the Two phases, 274.5.3, 14/145cm with a timing of 29.40 to emerge a clear winner ahead of Bader Mohammed Alfard (Bijou van de Vijfheide) 29.90 and Abdullah Waleed (Sacramento) 29.93.

Earlier, Bader Mohammed al-Fard was a convincing winner with Cognac, clocking a time of 55.39 seconds, while, Ali Yusef al-Malki, astride Looping 46, clocked a time of 57.82 seconds in the 120/125cm class to finish second. Fahad Abdulaziz al-Eid, astride Tycho, finished third with a time of 59.22 seconds.
