Qatari runner Ismail Daoud won the gold medal in the 400m hurdles race on Tuesday, 7 June 2023, in the U-20 Asian Athletics Championships, which is held in Yashun, South Korea, with the participation of 500 male and female athletes representing 40 Asian countries.
The runner, who is distinguished by his strength in overcoming barriers, succeeded in covering the race distance with a time of 49.30 seconds to add the second gold medal to his personal tally after winning the gold medal in the 400-meter freestyle race on the first day of the championship.

The opportunity appears to exist in adding two coloured medals at the end of the championship on Wednesday, 7 June 2023 after the duo Nayef Al Rashidi and Omar Daoud qualified for the final of the 110-meter hurdles.
On the first day, Qatari athletes won two gold medals through Bassem Abdel Salam in the pole vault competition and Ismail Daoud in the 400-meter freestyle race, and a silver medal on the second day by Ahmed Jabreen in the shot put competition.
