In a Tweet today, 1st January 2022, the Qatar Football Association has announced that the friendly match between Algeria and Gambia scheduled for today at 7 pm has been cancelled, saying:
The friendly match between the national teams of Algeria and Gambia, which was scheduled to be played today, 1 January 2022, at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium has been cancelled due to positive cases of Covid-19 in the Gambia camp, which led to the unavailability of a sufficient number of players to play the match, in addition to travel and return policies in light of the pandemic.
The concerned department will contact fans who purchased match tickets for reimbursement.
