Qatari players joined their respective clubs after their Gulf Cup campaign concluded with a 0-1 loss to Saudi Arabia in the semi-finals.
For most players the focus will be on the Qatari league, Al Sadd players will turn their attention however towards the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup, which Doha hosts starting December 11.
As for the national team, the squad is set to meet India in March 2020 as part of Asian qualifiers 2023 in China. National team coach Felix Sanchez left to Spain to join with the Olympic team who are holding a training camp there in preparations for the U-23 Asia Cup. The competition is also important as it acts as a qualifier for the Tokyo Olympics.
