Qatari weightlifter and Olympic champion Fares Ibrahim made a new achievement in weightlifting by winning three gold medals in the 102-kg weight competitions in the "sniper, snatch, and total" categories of the Arab Weightlifting Championship, which concluded Friday, 31 December 2021, in Erbil, Iraq.
Fares Ibrahim outperformed the four Arab countries participating in the tournament after he showed great capabilities in the competition to win the gold medals in all the 102-kg weight categories.
The Qatari champion won the gold medal of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and the gold medal of the 2021 World Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Faris Ibrahim also won the silver medal in the 2021 World Weightlifting Championships in total weight, lifting 394 kilograms.
