Qatar's volleyball team, Sharif Younis and Ahmed Tijan, won the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship which was concluded in the Chinese city of Maoming on Sunday. The Qatari team clinched the title after beating China 21-18 and 21-13. The Qatari team started the championship with winning over the Japanese team (21-18 and 21-15) within the second group competitions, then achieved its second win over New Zealand (21-17 and 21-13). The Qatari team wins Kazakhstan in the 16th round, and the Chinese teams in the quarterfinals and semi-finals. Thirty-two teams took part in the 2019 Asian Volleyball Championship. The Qatari team, the seventh seed in the world, win the third place and the Bronze Medal in the Xiamen Open, the 4-Star Beach Volleyball World Tour event which was held in China last month.
