The Qatar Handball Association announced in a tweet on 16 July 2022, the victory of team Qatar by winning the silver medal at the 11th World Games that took place in Birmingham, USA.

Qatar was defeated by Croatia in the final match; however, they gave them a challenge in the first half with a score of 17/14. Croatia took on the lead in the second half with a score of 20/16.

Team Qatar had paved their way to the finals after defeating the Brazilian team with a score of 2-1, who were a runner-up in the tournament.

The silver medal win is considered a great achievement for the Qatari team at it is their third participation in the World Games.
