For the second consecutive year, the Paris Saint-Germain Academy brought to you by Ooredoo, took place in Doha this weekend.

On 12-13 December, hundreds of boys and girls aged between 6 to 16 years old were able to take part in the Paris Saint-Germain football school, which aims at training the next generation of sporting stars.

The sessions welcomed children from a mix of schools, competition winners and invited guests. The young players took part in technical training sessions led by Paris Saint-Germain coaches and supported by UEFA-qualified coaches.

Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director of Community and Public Relations, Ooredoo said: “Ooredoo consistently supports and champions young people across Qatar through sponsorship, events and opportunities such as this. We believe in investing in the next generation and working with top teams like Paris Saint-Germain, so that we can inspire Qatar’s young people to work hard and follow their dreams.”

Ooredoo and Paris Saint-Germain signed a sponsorship agreement in 2013, and the partnership places a strong emphasis on community support and involvement in Qatar and across the company’s global footprint.

The coaching clinic programme is part of Ooredoo, Paris Saint-Germain and the Evolution Sports Academy’s shared approach to encouraging healthy lifestyles and supporting young people’s ambitions and aspirations.

Children are taught a range of skills, including tactical and defensive playing, stamina training and the basic rules of football.

In addition to the sessions, participants received Paris Saint-Germain Academy training kits and the official Paris Saint-Germain Academy diploma during the closing ceremony.

The second Paris Saint-Germain Academy brought to you by Ooredoo was the latest of the company’s sports initiatives. In 2015, there are plans to host the Ooredoo Marathon, celebrate Qatar National Sports Day and hold a range of events with Ooredoo Qatar’s brand ambassador Nasser Al Attiyah, as well as supporting the 24th Men's Handball World Championship.
