Ooredoo has supported a special coaching camp by the Paris Saint-Germain Handball team in Doha this week, as the company continues to inspire young people to take part in sports.

The camp, which was held on 29 July at Aspire Dome, gave 20 young people the opportunity to take part in a handball training session led by Paris Saint-Germain coaches.

The team is in Doha for a pre-season training camp and Ooredoo, as a top sponsor of the club, took the opportunity to enable a group of children to meet the Paris Saint-Germain players, so that they could take pictures with them, collect autographs, and see the start of their training camp.

Several of the players were part of France’s winning team at the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship, which was held in Qatar in January this year. Enthusiasm around the sport has grown significantly since the event, which saw Qatar achieve the runner up position after an incredible performance throughout the contest.

Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director of Community & Public Relations, Ooredoo, “We have an excellent relationship with Paris Saint-Germain, and this training camp was another opportunity to enrich young people’s lives and encourage them to take part in an excitingsport. Ooredoo ensures that all our sponsorships make a real impact on the communitythrough interactions like this coaching camp, and we’re particularly focused upon engaging young people.”

The Paris Saint-Germain Handball Academy by Ooredoo is part of the company’s ongoing work to introduce Qatar’s children to new sports. As part of Ooredoo’s commitment, the company hosts a series of events throughout the year such as the Ooredoo Marathon, National Sport Day activities, and activities held around the sporting competitions of Ooredoo’s brand ambassador, Nasser Al Attiyah, in addition to soccer training camps with Paris Saint-Germain.
