Ismael Diakite and Hemeya Tanjy earned Mauritania a 2-0 win over Yemen, along with a place at the FIFA Arab Cup. In Group B, Mauritania will now play Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Syria.

After the kickoff, Mauritania came close to breaking the deadlock six minutes in, only for Adama Ba’s free-kick to be tipped on to the post by Khairalah Mohammed.
They got the opener in the 18th minute. Ba played a palatial long ball over the top and Diakite controlled it, firing it home.
Yemen’s hurdle got a whole lot steeper shortly before the break. Mudir Al-Radaei handled the ball to halt an attack and was sent off.
