Italian Supercoppa Trophy

Excited doesn’t even begin to describe how stoked we are to see two of Italy’s premiere football clubs go head-to-head on the pitch in Qatar! This is the second time Qatar will host the prestigious cup event, having previously welcomed Juventus and Napoli in 2014 for the 27th edition of the Italian Supercoppa TIM, where Napoli came out victorious, winning the match on penalties.

This year’s event will be held once again at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium – home of Al Sadd Sports Club – on December 23, 2016, with kick-off at 7:30 p.m. The Local Organizing Committee, (LOC) made up of representatives from the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, the Qatar Football Association (QFA), and the Qatar Stars League, announced the hosting of the cup match on October 3 at the Aspire4Sport Global Summit on Football Performance & Science in Amsterdam.

The first batch of tickets on-sale on the QFA website (www.qfa.qa) have now sold out as fans await the announcement for the second batch from QFA. The LOC has also announced that tickets will also be made available on sale in shopping malls throughout Qatar in the coming weeks. Fans can purchase up to four tickets from either Category 1 (QR 250), or Category 2 (QR 150),

The first Italian Supercoppa TIM was held in 1988, with Juventus taking home the record for the most wins in the competition with seven, followed by AC Milan who hold six. Juventus currently holds the 2015-16 Serie A Championship title, and the 2015-16 Coppa Italia title, with AC Milan standing tall as 2015-16 Coppa Italia runners-up.
