Heafty fines salary deductions national team players

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) in a tweet on 19 January 2023, has announced that based on the report sent by the management of the National Football Teams to the General Secretariat of the Qatar Football Association and based on what was stated in Clause No. (2) of Article (22) of the Regulations for the Professionalism of Local Football Players 2022/2023, the following was decided:

  1. A 50% deduction from the salary of the player Abdul Karim Hassan, a player of the national team.
  2. Deduction of 50% of the salary of the player Bassam Al-Rawi, a player of the national team.
  3. Deduction of 50% of the salary of the player Mohamed Waad, a player of the national team.

The Qatar Football Association also decided, based on the report sent by the management of the national football teams, as follows:

  1. Suspension of the player Abdul Karim Hassan for an indefinite period.

And based on Article 4/77, Article 44/2.1, and Article 9/3.2 of the Disciplinary Regulations, the Disciplinary Committee decided the following:

  1. A warning to the player Abdul Karim Hassan and a fine of QR 200,000 only.
  2. A warning is issued to the player Bassam Al-Rawi and a fine of QR 100,000 only.
  3. A warning to the player Mohammed Waad and a fine of QR 50,000 only.

As per a report by The Peninsula, the President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), in an interview with Al Kass TV, stated that strict disciplinary action is being taken against Abdul Karim Hassan for provoking fans through Snapchat.

QFA hasn't disclosed the reasons for the disciplinary action against the two other players. We will update this space once more details are disclosed.
