Doha will host today Friday the 2020 CAF Super Cup between Egypt's Zamalek and Tunisia's Esperance de Tunis at Thani bin Jassim Stadium.
This is the second time the CAF Super Cup will be held outside Africa, following last season's edition, which was also held in Doha.
Zamalek, the holder of the Confederation Cup, are searching for a fourth Super Cup title and the first since 2003, while Esperance, the winner of the CAF Champions League, hope to achieve their second title after winning the 1995 edition.
Esperance seek to make up for their 1-2 loss in the 2019 Super Cup match against Moroccan Raja Casablanca, in a renewed confrontation between coach Moine Chaabani and the coach of Zamalek Patrice Carteron, who led Raja to win the 2019 Super Cup title in Doha.
The two teams will clash tomorrow in front of 25,000 fans in a sold-out crowd at Thani bin Jassim Stadium.
The two teams faced each other seven times, with Zamalek winning two, Esperance was victorious in one, and three draws.
