In between the exhilarating action on show at the Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships, the two-time former world champion and current holder of the WBC Siler welterweight found time to visit the iconic Museum of Islamic Arts.
DOHA, 12 OCTOBER 2015: The British boxer enjoyed himself on his day out across the capital before the action in the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena reemerges with tomorrow’s finals at world boxing’s signature event. Speaking after an eventful day which included a visit to the Museum of Islamic Arts and Katara Cultural Village, Khan said:
“Doha just keeps getting better and better, I really love it here. Everything is so beautiful, and it’s such a warm and hospitable place.
“I’m obviously here for the World Boxing Championships as a guest of the Qatar Boxing Federation and AIBA, but thankfully I’ve found time to visit a few sites like the Museum of Islamic arts. As a Muslim it was great to see all the ancient artefacts, and the whole experience was simply incredible. It’s really nice to see what Qatar has done to preserve Islamic culture.”
