Auto Class, a subsidiary company of Nasser Bin Khaled, has introduced the Maxus, one of the most respected companies for light passenger and cargo transport, in the Qatari market for the first time.

Auto Class unveiled the new brand at the Qatar International Motor Show 2016 that was inaugurated today at Qatar National Convention Centre and runs from 27 January to 1 February 2016.

Qatar Motor Show is one of the most important auto shows in the Gulf region, displaying new collection that will capture the minds and hearts of the guests. The exhibition offers one of the best and informative platforms on the latest trends in the automotive industry.

Auto Class Cars will sell Maxus and other new brands coming soon to Qatar. Located on Salwa road, the state-of-the-art showroom presents the latest models of new brands of cars.

Auto Class will provide the Qatari market with reliable vehicles that are differentiated from other brands and will add great value to the corporates or individuals.

Auto Class pavilion will display the Maxus V80 15 seater and G10 7 seater – two premier people mover solutions being introduced in Qatar at the Motor Show. Also available for sale in Qatar will be the Maxus V80 and G10 commercial panel vans that assure great value for money and efficient cost of ownership.

Formerly known as LDV (Leyland DAF Vans), Maxus is one of the products of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC). It is among the most respected companies for light passenger and cargo transport. It embodies a century of experience and unmatched technical prowess in commercial vehicle development. The Maxus brand is now universally revered as a legend in the international commercial vehicle industry.

Over the years, the Maxus brand has won several awards including “Fleet Van of the Year”, “Best New Van”, “Innovation Award” and also “Van of the Year” for four Consecutive Years (2005 – 08). After its acquisition by SAIC Motors in late 2000, it was re-branded and re-developed into the Marquee brand for SAIC Motors. Maxus is distributed across four major continents and is being recognised for the level of comfort, technology and sophistication that it offers.

Maxus G10

From its design to details of quality and technology, Maxus G10 achieves a high level with rich configurations for the top-end models.

Assuring good passenger and storage space thanks to its body size, the interior layout has been well rationalised.

G10 uses SAIC’s self-developed 2.0T engine and has dynamic technology and top-notch safety standards. It has ZF 6-speed manual provides gearbox assuring a dynamic acceleration. The ZF transmission assures power transmission security.

Maxus V80

Maxus V80 has spacious interiors - 1,800mm wide coupled with its great flexibility for customization; it is available as a panel van or a 13-/15-seater commuter. The Maxus V80 is seen as the ideal vehicle for business that seek an automobile with a proven track record for safety and quality.


The V80's European-tuned suspension and generous legroom provide comfortable ride for its occupants. The vehicle has undergone extensive collision testing. It has four disc brakes and is also equipped with advanced safety features such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), and LED daytime running lights.

Powering the V80 is a Euro IV emission standard 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine that produces 136bhp and 330Nm of torque. Fuel consumption will vary according to the model but SAIC provided a “comprehensive fuel consumption” figure of around 9.2 litres per 100 km.

The Maxus V80 Minibus is a light commercial van with a long-wheelbase chassis and dropside cab. Maxus will throw in alloy wheels, reverse parking sensors, dual sliding side doors, rear barn doors on cargo models and electric entry step for passenger models, and dual-zone air-conditioning as standard equipment across the range. A reverse-view camera and tyre pressure monitoring system are available on the higher-spec models.
