Aspire Zone Foundation's (AZF) National Sport Day (NSD) celebrations are rapidly taking shape as the NSD organizing committee at AZF puts the final touches to this year's program of activities.

The activities are being organized by AZF and its member organizations: Aspire Academy, Aspetar, and Aspire Logistics and will include more than 20 unique events for all members of the community to enjoy. Moreover, AZF will host more than 18 entities participating in NSD celebrations. As with previous years, 2020's plans prove that Aspire Zone Foundation does offer something for everyone, no matter their age or level of fitness.

AZF's three-member organizations; Aspire Academy, Aspetar and Aspire Logistics join forces to provide a sporty day full of innovative activities such as foot-volleyball, "Run&Bike" and obstacle-course race.

The NSD activities program is a demonstration of the unique AZF trilogy, which brings together Aspire Academy, Aspetar and Aspire Logistics, where there will be many activities that are based on sports science that a team from Aspire Academy provides such as foot-volleyball, yoga exercises, and multiple sports skills. "Run&Bike", is a new activity presented by the Aspetar's team for the first time, while the Aspire Logistics team organizes many community events, especially the obstacle-course race for children and teenagers, fitness relay for adults, wall climbing and many other events. All these events are open to all members of civil society.

"Run&Bike" is a new event presented by Aspetar's experts this year, where participants can form a team of two, one runner and the other a biker, each cycle and run every 2 km to finish around 4 km together. The event will start at 10:00 am in the area between the Torch Hotel and Khalifa International Stadium.

The Fun Run activity, one of the most popular events in AZF's NSD program in previous years, is back by popular demand and will be open to all members of the community, including men, women, families, children, and persons with special needs. It will include a 2-kilometer course around Aspire Zone that will enable participants to experience AZF's various venues and facilities while getting fit and having fun.

Aspire Dome will host a variety of activities for families and friends, including running, hammer throwing, and plyometric challenges. Aspire Dome's activities typically attract up to 2500 people because they offer such a diverse and rewarding set of challenges for all ages, increasing endurance, strength, and flexibility. Besides, the Sports Science and Football Performance department at Aspire is organizing several football-related activities, including shooting, dribbling, fitness challenge, football matches and more. These activities are suitable for all age groups and fitness levels. The dome will also witness a range of fun sports activities and challenges for all family members, including basketball and challenging barriers, etc. as well as events for children under 10 years, such as children's gymnastics, wall climbing, and other challenging activities by the Multi-Sports Development Program.

Early risers will also be able to take part in AZF's NSD activities earlier in the day, as the open-round-the-clock Aspire Park will be open for walking until the first round of activities begins.

In addition to its activities, AZF will also be hosting more than 18 public and private sector entities celebrating NSD with their employees and the public.

The 2020 edition of NSD at Aspire Zone comes in partnership with Qatar Development Bank, Qatar Gas, Sports Corner, KidZania, Aspire Active and Saleh Hamad Al Mana Company (Nissan).

More details will be made available by the organizing committee closer to NSD through AZF's website www.lifeinaspire.qa/NSD and AZF's various social media channels.

AZF invites all members of the community in Qatar to join its NSD celebrations and enjoy everything the Foundation has to offer in terms of playing sports and physical activity fun and exciting.

Commenting on the NSD preparations, Nasser Abdulla Al Hajri, Chairman of the NSD Organising Committee at AZF, said: "Our plans for this year's National Sport Day are progressing well and the teams at our member organizations have been busily working for some time now. Together, they have drawn on the collective experience and sporting capabilities to develop another fantastic and varied program. What makes our NSD activities unique is that we open our doors to all members of the community so they can come and benefit from our expertise."

"In designing our NSD program of activities, AZF focuses on activities that both promote physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle and emphasize the importance of exercise in daily life. This is in line with AZF's efforts to promote healthy lifestyles among people of all ages across the country, helping Qatar realize the Qatar National Vision 2030. Thanks to our ongoing commitment to the local community, AZF enables organizations and entities of all shapes and sizes to benefit from our world-class venues and capabilities by hosting their NSD activities in Aspire Zone. This, in turn, offers all sectors of the local community in Qatar the opportunity to celebrate NSD in their way, significantly increasing the number of participants in AZF's NSD celebrations year after year," Al Hajri added.
