Commenting on this year’s event, Mr. Mohammed Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Venues, Events and Marketing at AZF, said: “We’re proud to provide logistical support for this great tournament because we’re dedicated to offering a variety of exciting sporting events that appeal to everyone in Qatar, irrespective of nationality, age, gender or ability. We strive to encourage active participation in sport all year-round, particularly during Ramadan.”

Mr. Hussain Haddad, Member of the Qatar Paralympic Committee and Director of the Table Tennis Tournament added: “AZF is keen to engage everyone in sport and the table tennis competition was carefully selected because it is fun for everyone. This year, we have proudly organised another very successful and enjoyable competition for the visually impaired for the second year in a row. We hope to continue this fruitful partnership with AZF and we look forward to future events.”

Separately, on 7 June, the RSF’s football tournament will kick off on Aspire Zone’s warm-up track, with 16 teams taking part. Meanwhile, the Men’s and Ladies’ Volleyball tournaments, held in the Volleyball Hall in Aspire Dome and the Ladies Sports Hall in the Ladies Club respectively, will also take place.

The RSF is an annual sporting event that runs for two weeks during the holy month. Over 1,300 members from the local community are set to participate in 11 sports tournaments across Aspire Zone’s world-class sporting facilities. This year’s festival is sponsored by Ooredoo and Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co.

The festival is an excellent example of the year-round programme of activities hosted by AZF, which is designed to cater to all members of the community. Aspire Zone has become one of the most popular destinations for Qatar’s residents to take part in sporting activity as well as enjoy a wide range of cultural activities.
