After the success of the inaugural Qatar’s Strongest Man launched in January 2014, Aspire Zone announced the second edition of Qatar’s Strongest Man on Thursday, December 18th and Friday, December 19th, to be held at Aspire Zone from 3:00pm to 9:00pm at Aspire Park.

Aspire Zone invites the whole community to participate in this event, which is expected to have over 300 participants along with thousands of spectators, making it the venue of choice for the Qatar National Day weekend.

The second edition of Aspire Zone’s Qatar’s Strongest Man, sponsored by Sports Corner, is designed to test to the fullest extent the physical strength of an individual. The event will consist of a series of unique tests of strength including: weight lifting, lifting a fixed car, pulling a truck, moving a giant tire and moving an atlas stone and sand bags. Aspire Zone has confirmed that eight qualifiers will compete in all five of the series on the day, before one is crowned the winner in the ultimate ‘Clash of the Titans’

Mr. Abdulla Al Khater, Aspire Zone Events Manager, said: “Our Qatar’s Strongest Man event is the ultimate benchmark in strength athletics where eight contestants participate in a series of challenging exercises designed to push them both physically and mentally. After a fantastic response to last year’s Qatar’s Strongest Man from the local community as well as our neighbor countries; we look forward to the second edition of this amazing event.”

Participants must be aged 18 years old or over, and will be subject to strength tests and a screening process before being selected ahead of the event.

The top three participants who get the highest points in all five of the series will win the challenge. Trophies will be awarded to the first winner, prize money will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners, and the first five qualifiers will also be rewarded for their efforts. Plans are already under way for a GCC Championship category to be added to next year’s event.

Aspire Zone has confirmed that the event will have a customised set up including a 600 seated area where the public can cheer on their favourite contestants as well as a three spectators’ tribune who will be overseeing the event. Aspire Zone has organised a dedicated parking area to ensure the public can access the event swiftly and easily.

Aspire Zone is always looking for new and exciting events that allow the local community to challenge themselves, and Qatar’s Strongest Man is its latest offering. For more information please visit www.lifeinaspire.qa
