The first round of Arabian Drag Racing League 2020, in its 11th season, will kick off today. It is organized by the Qatar Racing Club under the patronage of H.E. QRC's President Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Thani. The competitions will be held on the QRC's racetrack, one of key international tracks in such sports.

According to the schedule of the event, registration and technical examination of cars and motorcycles participating in the tournament will start today at 2:00pm, followed by a meeting with the participants at 2:45pm before the circuit opens for the first session of shakedown at 3:00pm.

The Arabian Drag Racing League was launched for the first time in 2008, after the founder of Al Anabi Racing team and its president HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Thani decided to invite the best contestants at the global level in order to compete in a championship that is the first of its kind in this field at the regional level. That constitutes the milestone for the first Arabian Drag Racing League, which is now in its eleventh season, and has become one of the great motorsport tournaments in the region. The tournament brings every year the best racers from the Arab region, in addition to the champions of this sport from the United States of America, Europe, Canada, Australia and South America. It contributes to strengthening Qatar's position in the global sporting field. As a result of HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Thani's direct vision, Qatar Racing Club and Al Anabi Racing have emerged as one of the leading Motorsport facility and drag racing teams in the world.

QRC Operation Manager Ali Kafoud said that the club is ready for the start of the first round of the 11th Arabian Drag Racing League. Kafoud added, in a press statement, that the club has began preparations since the beginning of this year to host the competitions, pointing out that the preparations of such kind of tracks require great and intensive efforts in order to reach the full readiness. He further said that the club seeks to provide a sustainable environment for the development of current and future generations and to spread the culture of races within a safe environment.
