Al Sadd held held a general assembly on Tuesday evening to decide the future of the club. The club board appointed His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al-Thani to chair the club until 2020. Nasir Ali Mubarak was appointed as vice president as well.

Nasser Al-Mubarak Al-Ali spoke to the General Assembly at the meeting on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al-Thani, and Al-Ali delivered a speech in which he said that he hopes to fulfill the ambitions of Al Sadd. He also congratulated His Highness the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and upcoming Eid al-Fitr and thanked him for his support to the sports sector in the state.

Ali went on to thank the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Olympic Committee and also thanked the employees of the club. The Vice President of Al Sadd also thanked the technical and administrative team at the club as well as the players of all the club teams.

He also addressed the lack of silverware last season. He said that there were a lot of young players who emerged and who will benefit the team in the future.
