Al Markhiya advanced to the quarter-finals of H.H. the Amir Cup following a 1-0 victory on Saturday over Al Gharafa at Thani bin Jassim Stadium.
Aden Ali scored the match only goal in the 63rd minute to seal the victory for Al Markhiya.
Both teams shared the possession in the first half without creating enough chances to open the scoring.
In the second half, Al Markhiya dominated the possession and opened the scoring from a free-kick crossed to Aden Ali, who converted the ball to the back of the net.
Al Gharafa pressed hard to level the game but Al Markhiya's defense was able to foil their attempts.
Al Markhiya booked the final ticket of the quarter-finals of H.H. the Amir Cup to join Al Sailiya, Al Rayyan, Al Sadd, Al Duhail, Al Wakrah, Al Ahli, and Al Arabi.
