Jassim Al Hudaifi told QSL Online, “We are not satisfied with the team’s position in the Qatar Stars League as our aim from the start to be amongst the top four, we didn’t expect this situation after just eight Rounds of action.”

Commenting on the reason behind the team’s decline Al Hudaifi said, “We didn’t have luck on our side and also the results haven’t been going our way.” He stressed that he doesn’t hold any particular individual responsible for his side’s decline. He continued “Football is a team game and we can’t point fingers at just one person.”

Al Hudaifi then went on to say that the team would bounce back and that this can only be done step by step by rectifying the mistakes which occurred during the previous games. “The team will return gradually and we have confidence in the technical staff which is led by Lazaroni.”

Qatar Sports Club Head of Football explained that the new Brazilian Head Coach Lazaroni doesn’t have a magic wand to mend the results and that he will need some time.

“Despite the fact that Lazaroni knows the team and players well, he too needs some time, I hope that the current stoppage period will give us a chance to prepare the team well in order to return to the positive results.”

Commenting on whether he is satisfied with the four foreign players so far, he said, “The foreign players are doing their best and attending to their duties well. I would like to renew my confidence in them. Belmaalem is a very good defender, Mohsen Iajour is a distinguished striker, Kook too has been great and Dagano whom we signed recently is well-known in the league and God willing.”

Commenting on whether the winter transfer will be an active time for the club, Al Hudaifi replied, “There will be some changes to support the team next January as Lazaroni has requested this.”

Qatar Sports club will play Al Rayyan in Round 9 of the Qatar Stars League on the 22nd of Nov 2015 at 18:30.
