A report by Qatar daily Gulf Times revealed that the Al Bayt–Al Khor City Stadium, a designated FIFA World Cup 2022 venue is on the verge of completion, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) said on Friday.
"The Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor is looking incredible! The stadium field of play turf installation was recently completed, the retractable roof system testing and commissioning underway and more than 53,000 seats have been installed," the SC tweeted last Friday (May 10, 2019).
The stadium takes its name from bayt al sha'ar—tents historically used by nomadic people in Qatar and the Gulf region. In common with Qatar's famously hospitable people, Al Bayt Stadium – Al Khor City will welcome guests from far and wide, entertaining them and inviting them to experience the country's traditional culture.
