Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced on its official Twitter account on Monday, 6 February 2023, that it has selected Carlos Queiroz as the new head coach of Qatar's national football team.
The Portuguese coach has served as the manager of European football teams such as Real Madrid and as the assistant manager of Manchester United. Most recently, he managed the Iran team, where he helped the team qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
He also led various international football teams, including Portugal, South Africa, Colombia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates.
