In just 100 days, Qatar will warmly welcome more than 2,000 of the world’s finest athletes from 213 world countries along with thousands of athletics fans from all over the world who will descend on Doha when it plays host to the IAAF World Athletics Championships.

Taking place at Qatar’s iconic air-conditioned Khalifa International Stadium, the competition runs from 27 September to 6 October and will be the first time ever the world’s biggest athletics event comes to the Middle East.

An event of that magnitude surely promises to be filled of fun, excitement and all kinds of emotions. Records will be broken, new stars will emerge and tears of joy and sorrow will be shed. It is the ultimate platform for athletics fans to get close to their heroes and watch them in action.

IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 will be rightly an edition of firsts. Besides being the first ever in the history of the region, the competition will feature a number of innovative introductions, including the debut of midnight marathon at World Championships and a ticketing scheme that allows fans to sit in traditional majlis seats and near the finish line, an area previously reserved for senior officials.

The competition also features a new schedule in which morning sessions are removed in favour of split evening sessions that accommodate family-centred activities and ensure an entertaining experience for families and younger fans.
