Every February 26 of each year, the country has been celebrating Qatar Environment Day. Due to the pandemic, there isn't much happening this year as we have to avoid social gatherings.
The National Museum of Qatar is offering a "Green Tour" showcasing native Qatari plants in the museum's garden with its historical story.

In partnership with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, a photo exhibition of Qatari nature is happening at Sikkat Al Maiz near Barahat Msheireb. If you are around there, check it out! The pictures will be available for a week.
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) celebrates Qatar’s Environment Day by holding series of activities. The activities will be held in a number of areas and winter camps, in the presence of a number of ministry officials, and will continue until Saturday, as it will include a number of beaches to be cleaned, rehabilitated, and cultivated on the occasion of this celebration. Minister of Municipality and Environment, H E Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie said in a statement on this occasion that Qatar, under the wise leadership of Amir H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is keen on protecting the environment and its natural balance, in order to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development for all generations, as it placed environmental development as one of the four pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030, and emphasized that achieving this vision is a national responsibility.

MME distributed 1500 wild tree seedlings to winter camp owners in different regions of Qatar with the aim of cultivating the land to promote agriculture and forestry.
The Qur’anic Botanic Garden (QBG), the first garden in the world to exhibit all plant species mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, Hadith, and Sunnah, celebrated Qatar Environment Day, held annually on February 26, with a wild plant restoration event at Rawdat al-Faras in Al Nasraniya.
The activity was held in partnership with the Environmental Protection Reserves & Wildlife Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, which allocated Rawdat al-Faras to be rehabilitated by QBG.
The Ministry of Environment and the Municipality organized beach cleanups with kindergarten students on 26-27 February. This will be a good educational activity for the little ones!
