HMC Sealine Medical Clinic to open today for camping season

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will open its medical clinic in the Sealine area of Qatar on Thursday 31 October at 3 pm. This is the 10 year of operations from the Sealine Medical Clinic and the opening coincides with the start of the camping season. The clinic will operate from 3 pm on Thursdays until 5pm on Saturdays throughout the camping season and will remain open until at least the end of March 2020. The opening of the clinic highlights HMC’s commitment to provide safe, compassionate, and effective healthcare services to all patients in Qatar, according to HMC.

Mr. Ali Abdulla Al Khater, HMC’s Chief Communications Officer and Project Manager of the Sealine Hamad Medical Clinic, pointed out that the clinic plays an important role in serving the public in this major camping area, praising the existing cooperation between HMC and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment who facilitated providing an ideal location of the clinic. “The fact that the clinic is located on a main road adjacent to the beach, resort, mosque, shopping area, and other services and amenities in the area, enables easy access to the clinic and has enabled the clinic to provide therapeutic and first aid services to the public in a fast and effective manner throughout the past five years,” Mr. Al Khater said. Mr Al Khater expressed his appreciation to stakeholders of the Sealine Clinic whose efforts have been pivotal in the success of the clinic. He extended special thanks to the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, and to other parties who cater to the service requirements of this unique recreational area, such as food and beverage outlets and other amenities. He also expressed gratitude to healthcare professionals in the HMC Ambulance Service and other HMC teams who support HMC's service provision in the area.

Mr. Al Khater urged campers to take safety precautions to prevent accidents and demonstrate vigilance against trauma and possible infection.Commenting on the number of patients and the types of injuries and ailments attended to at the clinic, Dr. Hamid Ghareeb, Medical Supervisor at the Sealine Medical Clinic stated: “The clinic, which is manned by a physician, nurse and medical supervisor, receives all types of medical emergencies and is served by a helipad for easy LifeFlight access. The clinic features all the medical equipment and medications needed to manage injuries, but cases of urgent or serious nature are usually transported to hospital by ambulance or the LifeFlight helicopter, depending on the severity of the injury or illness,” said Dr. Ghareeb.

Mr. Saleh. M. Al Marri, Assistant Executive Director for Events at HMC’s Ambulance Service, stated that arrangements have been made with other government entities to provide high quality healthcare services to campers in the Sealine resort and surrounding areas. “Ambulance Service coverage in the Sealine area operates 24/7 with standard response vehicles as well as 4x4 vehicles which are deployed for transporting patients from the sand dune areas to either the clinic, a standard ambulance vehicle, or to the helipad. Based on the request of the Tourism Authority, HMC’s Ambulance Service will increase the number of ambulances to six, and five 4x4s during weekends and official holidays,” he said.Mr. Faleh R. Al Hajiri, Sr. Fleet Manager at the Ambulance Service affirmed the fleet’s readiness to respond to all emergency calls from campers in the Sealine resort and surrounding areas during the camping season. “The new 4x4 ambulances, which have been in operation for the past two years, have been modified by Qatari staff at the Ambulance Service to cope with the special terrain in the Sealine and surrounding areas, to enable them to reach patients safely and with great flexibility,” he said.
