Under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, the 4th International Primary Health Care Conference began Thursday, with the participation of more than 900 experts and speakers from different countries of the world. Held under the theme: A foundation set for significance, the conference will run until Feb. 22.
Mariam Abdul Malik, Managing Director of Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Primary Health Care, said that Qatar has made remarkable efforts to ensure excellence in health care services for all in line with the visions and aspirations of the State of Qatar by providing a practical framework to build a successful health system. This contributes to meeting the needs of the population of the State of Qatar and encourages more national efforts to make Qatar a healthier society, she said.
Speaking at the opening session of the conference, she said that this event is held through the pioneering efforts to implement the provisions of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which urges the importance of building a healthy society in the sustainable development system, which represents a driving inspiration to achieve excellence in its health system, thanking the Ministry Public Health for its continuing support over the past years and still giving to the PHCC.
The Managing Director of PHCC pointed out that the conference aims to achieve many goals, foremost of which is adopting international best practices in effective leadership and governance systems, and modern practices when dealing with common clinical situations, and enhancing the importance of individual and family-centered health care to promote quality improvement initiatives and patient safety, and to take advantage of available opportunities to educate and develop health professionals in line with the needs and interests of both individuals and societies, understand the culture of innovation in health care and participate in its promotion, and support health promotion and disease prevention through integrated care models.
The 4-day event honors progress and embrace the future of primary healthcare, provide a platform to share knowledge, facilitate forums to discuss best practices and underline Qatar's legacy of promoting health and wellness by providing excellence in primary healthcare.
The conference brings together inspiring speakers and experts from across the globe to share knowledge and best practice through panel sessions, exhibitions and workshops.
