40% of hospital project completed in Jerusalem by Qatar Red Crescent

The Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) announced in a statement on Tuesday that it has completed more than 40 percent of the maintenance and equipping of the operations and sterilization department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Hospital in Jerusalem, which is implemented with a budget of QR 1,866,000.

The project, part of the partnership with the Palestine Red Crescent Society, will provide the Hospital Operations Department with a range of medical devices that will directly contribute to the upgrading of the hospital's medical services.

In the statement, QRCS said that the project is a qualitative leap for the hospital, which was established in 1953 with a capacity of 40 beds, with its last maintenance being more than 30 years ago, the objective of this project is to benefit more than 12,000 patients annually, after meeting the quality requirements for the accreditation of hospitals.

The number of births in the hospital is about 3,500 births annually, and the monthly surgical rate of 1,000 operations.

The hospital has a certificate of international quality, as well as a Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation and includes a section for the care of premature newborns and an ambulance and emergency section and two external clinics.
