The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has announced a temporary closure and diversion for one year from Friday on two sections of Dohat Um Al Maa Street, east of Al Kharaitiyat Interchange (N8) on Al Shamal Road, near the Ikea Store (as shown on the map).

The first section includes the closure of two lanes stretching over 140m on Dohat Um Al Maa Street (one-way section), south of the roundabout located east of Al Kharaitiyat Interchange. Traffic will be diverted through a newly constructed lane leading to Wadi Al Ebb Street.

The second section includes the closure of two lanes stretching over 650m on Dohat Um Al Maa Street (two-way section), north of the roundabout located east of Al Kharaitiyat Interchange. Traffic from the south will be diverted to a newly constructed link road between Al Shamal Road and Dohat Um Al Maa Street, in front of the Ikea Store.

Traffic heading from Al Kheesa Interchange to Al Ebb area will be diverted to Wadi Al Asma Street, then to Wadi Al Banat Street, and onto Arab League Road, reaching Wadi Al Ebb Street. Motorists from the Ikea Store to Al Ebb area will need to use Wadi Al Askar Street leading to Wadi Al Ebb Street.

The diversion, located within Zone 70 in Al Ebb area, is required to carry out the improvement works of Al Kharaitiyat Interchange (N8) as part of the North Road enhancement project.

Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the diversion. The authority has requested all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure safety.
