The Torch Doha will witness the second edition of World Stadium Congress, dedicated to design and development of world class stadiums from June 3 to 5. Over 200 international industry leaders in both the global sporting event industry and the architecture and design sphere attended the inaugural event last year. Over 200 attendees have already confirmed their participation for the event including Qatar Olympic Committee, Astad, Qatar Design Consortium, Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation, Qatar University, Qatari Diar, Qatar Project Management, Lusail Consultants, Hochtief, RFA Iribarren Architects, EURO 2012, International Cricket Council, AECOM Global Sports, GMP among others. The Congress will act as a forum to discuss the key challenges and successes to date, including presentations from local and global experts such as; Andrew Amery, Head of Security, London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG); Ali Nasser Al Khalifa, CEO, ASTAD; Samantha Cotterell, Founder and CEO, DESIGNSPORT; J.Parrish, Director, AECOM Global Sports and Slobodan Delic, Venue Technology Management and Result Services, Organising Committee for Sochi 2014 XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games. The event will feature two days of in-depth presentations and case studies both at the local, regional and global level. Some of the topics on Qatar include “Fulfilling ASTAD’s project management role of construction and infrastructure developments in Qatar; “Achieving sustainability of sport facilities for Qatar 2022 through QSAS Sport”, “Project progress review of Qatar’s first World Cup Stadium – Education City” and “Construction and engineering masterclass – key considerations and specifications for materials and design in Qatar”, among others. “With two days of interactive discussions from key stakeholders from Qatar and across the globe, this event will provide attendees with the perfect opportunity to discuss the latest advancements in stadium design and development, the latest most cutting-edge technology available to enhance fan and athlete experience and the recent updates in regulation, technology and stadium management.
