World famous Vienna Boys' Choir perform with Siwar

Doha, January 30th, 2012: Katara, the Cultural Village, hosted a unique concert which brought together the talents of Qatari choir boys and the famous Vienna Boys’ Choir. The three day concert, which attracted thousands of music enthusiasts, ended with a stunning show which featured local boys from the Al Jazeera Children Channel choir, Siwar. The two choirs performed traditional music from their respective countries alongside the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, before ending the show on a spectacular high with a joint composition. Dr. Emad Sultan, Cultural Affairs Director, said, “We were proud to bring together the Vienna Boys Choir with Siwar; the outstanding performance shows that two are an absolutely winning team. Katara is committed to providing a platform for aspiring talents and this event is a testimonial of our dedication to local talents.” Between shows, the Vienna Boy’s Choir took time out to see Doha’s tourist attractions and spend the day at Sealine with the boys of Sirwar. The boys were also treated to a cruise along the coast, taking in the breathtaking views of Doha’s glittering skyline. The boys also practiced their compositions whilst relaxing on the boat.
