Within the framework of celebrating the World Cleanup Day which is marked on third Saturday of September every year, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment honoured a number of cleaning workers in appreciation of their daily efforts in maintaining public cleanliness throughout the country. It also organised a campaign to clean Al Wakra Beach, during which various quantities of waste were collected and removed.

As part of its celebrations on this occasion, the Ministry will launch a competition on Friday on the public hygiene law for the public on its pages on social media, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of hygiene and its role in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Regarding the campaign to clean Al Wakrah Beach, Assistant Director of the General Cleaning Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Mohammed Faraj Al Kubaisi said that the campaign comes within the framework of the Ministry's interest in preserving the cleanliness of all beaches throughout the country, as well as its keenness to participate in the World Cleanup Day, which is an occasion to raise awareness among the public about the importance of keeping beaches clean.
