Team AAB and Team Creation Stars won the cricket and basketball Qatar Workers Cup titles recently. Team AAB beat Redco Almana by 17 runs after a comprehensive batting display saw them make 135 runs in 12 overs. In reply, Redco Almana, lost key wickets but fell short of their target when they finished 118 for 6 wickets. AAB Team Captain Mohammed Sinda Madhar was delighted with the victory as well as being crowned the maiden champions of the Ooredoo Qatar Workers Cricket Cup. Team Creation got revenge from their group defeat earlier in the competition by edging Unibeton Ready Mix 70-65. In a closely-fought match, Team Creation Stars limited their opponents scoring opportunities to ensure Team Creation went home QR18,000 richer and clinched the basketball title. The Creation Stars offered their congratulations to all the participating teams and thanked Ooredoo and Qsports Leagues for supporting the tournament. Chairman of Qsports Leagues, Ghanim Al Mohannadi, who facilitated the competitions was delighted with the success. “It is great to see the excitement and enthusiasm from all the teams and players. I offer my congratulations to the winners and commend all the companies who participated in the tournament and allowed their employees to compete. The final Ooredoo Qatar Workers Cup of the 2013 season will be the volleyball tournament which will commence later this month.
