Over 100 female employees from ExxonMobil, RasGas, and Qatargas took part in ExxonMobil’s professional women’s network EMRA’A’s women’s wellness event which was held recently.
The event was coordinated by RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) and Qatargas and was hosted by RasGas at its West Bay headquarters.
Since its inception in November 2009, EMRA’A has held a series of quarterly events, which include team-building activities, mentoring and network opportunities.
These events are aligned with the network’s overall objective to support Qatar’s working women, and to help capitalise on their potential as contributors to economic progress – a direct espousal of Qatar’s National Vision 2030, and its human development pillar, which supports the participation of women in the political and economic spheres of society.
Through its events, EMRA’A functions as a platform from which opportunities can surface, and where trending topics related to women in the workplace can be brought to the table.
This quarter, the importance of women’s health and wellness in yielding positive results and productivity on the personal and organisational level was at the forefront of discussions.
Subject matter experts presented attendees with information to help educate them on healthy choices and how they can enhance job performance. The agenda included two highly beneficial workshops entitled “Eating for Energy: Climbing the Corporate Ladder” and “Hanging on Takes Energy and Women’s Wellness: Insights, Tips and Advice.”
“So many women balance work with personal and family obligations, and finding the balance among these priorities requires certain skills and abilities,” said Machaille Al-Naimi, Legal Advisor for ExxonMobil Qatar Inc and a member of EMRA’A.
