Woman pays off loan of resident convicted for payment defaults A kind woman has settled the outstanding loan of a resident who was convicted and serving time for defaulting on repayments. The married prisoner who has 13 children owed QR35,000. A Qatari woman responded to the fund-raising campaign launched by Dar Al Sharq on the occasion of Ramadan and paid the entire amount on behalf of the defaulter. As part of the Dar Al Sharq 'Tafreej Kurbah' initiative the loan of another prisoner who owed over QR2m was repaid. The campaign, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, plans to raise a total QR15.8m from donations. Donors can deposit their cheques in favour of account No.100170405 at Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) and 1111103127003 at Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB). The third option is to hand over to the accounts section of Dar Al Sharq during working hours. Public and officials have welcomed Tafreej Kurbah, the humanitarian fund-raising initiative which means alleviating miseries.
