Winter vegetable markets are set to open from Thursday, offering fresh vegetables to the customers coming straight from the local farms at attractive prices. Ministry of Municipality and Environment said in a Tweeter post that 125 local farms will participate for the season 2019-20.

Qatar’s appetite for producing farm products has been on the rise in recent years and the country is focusing exclusively on the local production to secure food safety. These markets serve as a platform for the local farmers to sell their products directly to the customers without middlemen. At the same time, it helps the customers to get fresh agricultural produce at reasonable prices. The winter vegetable markets are located in Al Sheehaniya, Al Mazrouha, Al Wakrah, Al Khor-Al Zakhira, and Al Shamal. It is worth noting that these markets received huge success over the past few seasons.
