Northwesterly winds are likely to affect the country by tomorrow and this will lead to a dip in temperature, the Qatar Met department has said.
There is also a chance of light rain in the northern parts of the country tomorrow as cloudy conditions will intensify from the middle of the week, according to the weather office, Gulf Times reported.
The mercury level has been rising around Qatar over the past few days, crossing 30C in some places. However, that may change as the Met department yesterday tweeted that northwesterly winds are expected to affect the country by tomorrow afternoon, “causing rising dust, a drop in temperature by 3-5C compared to the previous days and high waves exceeding 8ft”.
Today’s detailed forecast says strong winds and high seas are expected in offshore areas towards the north. Slightly dusty and cloudy conditions will prevail in these areas, and there is a chance of scattered rain in the northern parts, where the wind speed may go up to 22 knots and the sea level rise to 7ft.
Inshore, moderate temperature is expected during the daytime and there will also be some clouds and slight dust in certain areas occasionally. It will be relatively cold by night.
A minimum temperature of 15C is expected today in Abu Samra, and Doha will see a low of 21C. The maximum, on the other hand, will range from 25C in Wakrah and Mesaieed, to 28C in Doha and 32C in Abu Samra, the weather report shows.
Yesterday, a minimum temperature of 14C was recorded in Abu Samra, while Doha saw a low of 20C. The maximum ranged from 23C in Wakrah to 32C in Abu Samra, with Doha recording a maximum of 30C.
