The Ministry of Culture and Arts and Heritage yesterday announced details of the summer activities planned for this year. The activities, planned by the Youth Affairs Department in the ministry, are being organised in coordination with 40 youth institutions across Qatar. These include the Youth Centre for Arts and Cultural Creativity, Qatar Photographic Society, Youth Musical Arts Centre and The Qatar Scientific Society. Among the clubs that will be involved in the planned summer activities are Al Ahli Club, Al Rayyan Club and AlSadd Club. Ghanem Mohammad Al Thiyab, a member of the summer activities planning committee, said, “The summer activities will be full of events at various clubs and centres that have been planned for this summer”. “The summer activities planned include numerous recreational trips and expeditions aimed at entertaining, educating and enhancing the cultural knowledge of the participants,” said Al Thiyab, adding: “Many competitions and contests are to take place between different clubs and centres, including water games and sports contests.” “Field trips will be a central activity planned for the clubs and centres, which will include training courses in computers, theatre and music,” said Al Thiyab. Because of the diversity of clubs and centres involved in the summer activities planned by the ministry, the participants will enjoy a wide array of activities, including social, cultural and athletic events and children’s festivals.
