Who doesn't want freebies? Especially if the one being given away at absolutely no cost is gold? We would all say yes to this, right? And knowing how well-off the State of Qatar is, it's not impossible to stumble upon jewels by just walking around... especially if you're in these four places.
Eager to know the golds' whereabouts? Turn that game face on and scroll down!
This architectural sight erected sky high in Zekreet has been around for many years now but due to its kind of far-off location, is also one of the least explored gems in the country.
The reason for this lies in a secret which the Qatar Museums staff have been hiding from us all these years!!!
Several sightings of gold reserves have been reported in this part of Qatar thus the four steel plates making up its entirety. People who had first-hand encounters are saying that it's around the third steel bar (third from left on the above pic) where the highest chance of finding the most gold scattered can be found.
One British backpacker even once revealed (we're not quite sure if it's intentional or not) that bringing a gardening "tool" to the tourist spot would mean higher possibilities of collecting gold from one of the four steel bars.
What a life hack!!!
Multiple reports are claiming that the newly-erected 'Le Pouce' monument located in the heart of Souq Waqif is 'a big chunk of Asian treasure' and people are actually believing it!
Another angle of the story says that even football fans are speculating that this thumb-shaped structure is the Amir's gift to the people of Qatar after our national football team emerged as champions on the recently-concluded Asian Games back in January.
So how does the 'thumb' point where the golds are? When you do a thumbs up gesture, your thumb points to the sky but where do your four fingers point? Towards you! If you walk backwards from the thumb, it takes you a golden sign of the Falcon Souq, the falcon faces east, which if you follow takes you straight to, the old Gold Souq!
Coincidence?
Looks like 365 Adventures' 'Friday Treasure Hunt' challenge happening in Souq Waqif on a monthly basis could just be REAL!!!
We've featured the 'ghost towns of Qatar' on our website many times in the past but what we haven't told you about yet is one of Al Jumail's most intriguing features that dates several years back.
It's abandoned not because oil and gas took over. The fishing village was left for dead due to the minaret, which allegedly contains a tunnel underneath it where a treasure chest can be found. Myths are saying that many pearl divers tried to own the fabled chest for themselves but they ended up getting abducted by a creature, which according to old people guides the minaret's tunnel.
No wonder why the village’s entrance is indicated by a signboard saying that it's a 'heritage site' without visitors knowing that it was once a hub for deadly jewel hunting.
No one can ever tell up to this day if this myth is real or whether pieces of gold and jewel can still be found within the vicinities of Qatar's so-called 'ghost cities'.
Did you guys know that the extended part of Villaggio is deemed 'luxurious' for a reason? Though we won't encourage you to bring a shovel to dig on this rather opulent spot, the truth is most of the shopping mall's flooring is actually made up of tiny pieces of gold stones!!
So the next time you take a stroll in Villaggio's Venetian-styled interiors, you know where to look—DOWN!
