The Qatar Met department has issued a weather forecast summary for the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.

Extending its greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr in a statement, the weather office said northwesterly windy conditions were expected to continue on Friday and Saturday, causing blowing dust and low visibility of below 3km at times over some areas. In addition, high waves will continue in offshore areas, ranging between 5ft and 9ft.

All warnings are expected to be cancelled on Sunday, though fresh to strong winds are likely offshore northward during the rest of the week.

In general, hot weather conditions will continue with a gradual increase in humidity and the maximum temperature ranging between the late-30C to mid-40C levels in most areas, the statement notes.

The Met department has reminded people in Qatar to avoid exposure to direct sunlight during the noon and to follow the latest updates through its official website and various social media accounts.

Thursday, a maximum temperature of 44C is expected in Mesaieed and Wakrah, followed by 42C in Doha and Al Khor. The maximum on Thursday was 43C in Al Rayyan and Mesaieed, while in Doha it was 41C. (Source)
