Amid a fresh, brief spell of unstable weather, forecasters have warned of some chances of rain in some areas today.

The showers could at times be accompanied by thunder and high winds, the weather bureau said in its routine forecast yesterday. The seas will be high and could witness thunderstorms and gusty winds, according to the warning for offshore weather. About inland, the bureau said the weather could be fine with the onset of the evening.

Inland, northwesterly to northerly winds could move at speeds of six to 16 or 20 knots and during the rains with thunder, the speed could reach up to 25 knots. Offshore, the wind direction will be southeasterly to southwesterly during the day with speed reaching from eight to 18 to 25 knots at times (during thunder). As the evening arrives, the wind direction would change to northwesterly and that could mean a little chill in the air. Temperatures are likely to vary between 24 and 27 degrees C (Doha: 26 degrees C) during the day and about 20 degrees C throughout the country at night. (Source/ Image)
