W Doha Hotel & Residences, brings ‘WHAT SHE SAID’, a global networking series that celebrates inspirational women, for the second time to Doha. It features Qatari women who have broken boundaries and are shaping the world today. The event will take place on Saturday, 8th of December 2018 in The Great Room at the W Doha Hotel.
The global networking series features incredible women from all fields including fashion, music, fitness, art and much more. These women aim to inspire other women with their personal success stories through this series, which is held exclusively at W Hotels around the world.
This time around, the event will focus on education supported by Education Above All Foundation (EAA). The panel will feature five influential and successful women from Qatar within the realm of education in celebration of Human Rights Day, observed on December 10th each year.
‘What She Said – On Education’ will be a roundtable discussion, which aims to emphasize the importance of education as a fundamental and enabling human right. The relevance and necessity of equitable and efficient education in all stages of development will be highlighted in the discussion along with the ways in which it can catalyse growth. Different ‘grey’ areas of education will be explored in the panel, including the necessity of education in emergency responses, the importance of equitable education for all genders and all disabilities and finally, the impact of education on conflict-affected communities.
The four featured panellists’ will be: Hessa Al Noaimi, EAA youth advocate, Nawaal Akram, comedian, model, athlete and disability rights advocate, Tahani Al Hajri, Writer and Social Activist, and Reem Al Suwaidi, General Manager of Bedaya. The series will include a panel discussion, which will be moderated by Bianca Brigette Bonomi, the Editor in Chief of Grazia Arabia. During the panel, the panellists will highlight their success stories and how they overcame both personal and professional obstacles, creating a dialogue that inspires and educates women of all generations on woman empowerment. Following the panel, guests will then be invited to an interactive art activity on human rights with focus on right to education with emerging female artist Hessa Kalla.
