Vodafone is holding a fundraising challenge #GivingChallenge that will see 4 Qatari youths using their social media influence to raise funds for their chosen charity during the holy month of Ramadan.

Abdulaziz Yousef, Ibrahim Yasser, Rashid Al Kuwari, Saoud Al Maadeed will use their social media channels to encourage their followers to vote for their chosen charities via Vodafone’s website www.vodafone.qa/GivingChallenge. For each vote, Vodafone will donate QR20 to each charity by the end of Ramadan.

“The Vodafone Fundraising Challenge is an opportunity for the public to discover new ways to do good in the giving spirit of this holy month. Abdulaziz, Ibrahim, Rashid, Saoud are shining examples of Qatari youth whose charitable souls I’m confident will raise significant funds for their chosen charities while also raising awareness about the honourable work that these charities do,” said Dana Haidan, Vodafone Qatar’s Head of CSR.

Abdulaziz Yousef, also known as Temsa7, is one of Qatar’s best known cartoonists whose work has received critical acclaim. Abdulaziz also takes his passion for the art of cartoons to his profession at Al Jazeera Children’s Channel and Jeem Children’s Channel. Ibrahim Yasser, graduated from Qatar University and is a youth activist with a focus on education. By day Ibrahim works for Teach for Qatar and outside of work he enjoys volunteering and promoting social change and development through filmmaking and social media. Rashid Al Kuwari, another one of Qatar’s renowned cartoonists whose work is enjoyed by thousands of readers in Al Raya newspaper and whose recent Youtube show was viewed more than 500,000 in Qatar. Saoud Al Maadeed, isone of Al Rayyan TV’srising star presenters. Saoud is also an avid hunter and photographer. He has taken up the challenge to raise funds for Eid Charity; follow him on Twitter and Instagram @Saoudalmaadeed and on Snapchat
