Vodafone will completely open its network to subscribers in Qatar this month. Hitherto, Vodafone services were accessible only to a few thousand customers including company’s ‘first shareholders’. A Vodafone Qatar spokeswoman told Gulf Times yesterday “several exciting products and services” awaited customers of the second mobile service provider in the months ahead. She said, “From this month, customers can join Vodafone and set up a monthly ‘Freedom’ account. Freedom is the new monthly way to pay and provides customers with great convenience and total control. Freedom accounts are free to set up and customers can securely register their credit card, debit card or bank account details for transactions.” Vodafone Qatar is also unveiling its ‘Flexi’ feature plans. Flexi plans give customers lots of great value and full flexibility to use for any of Vodafone’s products- including local and international calling, local and international SMS, roaming, and mobile Internet. Vodafone’s ‘Online Store’ and a number of retail stores would also open this month, she said. In Vodafone’s online and retail stores, all customers will have the opportunity to open Freedom accounts, purchase Flexi plans, and reserve ‘Star numbers’. Vodafone Qatar’s first pre-pay product – ‘Red’ would be launched later this year. Vodafone Qatar Chief Marketing Officer, Michael Portz said, “We are very excited about this major step for Vodafone’s launch in Qatar. Very soon all people in Qatar can join Vodafone and benefit from the great value we are offering. http://gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=294335&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16
