Vodafone Qatar raised QR92,000 to support flood relief efforts in Pakistan. The money was raised from August 16 to September 15 through a Dh10 donation for each call Vodafone Qatar’s customers made to Pakistan. The total amount raised has been given to the Qatar Red Crescent, which is actively involved in the post flood relief operations including distribution of food and non-food Items, health relief and recovery and rehabilitation. “We felt it was our duty to help Pakistan in its time of need and are delighted that our customers played an active role in raising the money,” said Luisa Gentile, Vodafone Qatar head of Corporate Social Responsibility. “We thank Vodafone Qatar for their donation and hope many other companies will follow Vodafone’s exemplary role in raising money to aid relief efforts in Pakistan,” said Dr Amer Melhem of Qatar Red Crescent. Individuals and companies can still help the Qatar Red Crescent’s relief efforts in Pakistan by transferring their donation to account No 100002649 (Qatar Islamic Bank) or making an online donation at the Qatar Red Crescent’s website www.qrcs.org http://gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=388268&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16
