Vodafone has raised about QR4.29mn through an online promotion for special numbers, whose proceeds will be given to a Qatari charity.
The telecom service provider yesterday said it would continue to make ‘Star Numbers’ and ‘My Numbers’ available to customers at 50% of the standard price.
“This online-only promotion was announced last week and succeeded in raising an amount of about QR4.29mn to benefit charity. This is an amazing response to the offer we thank all who have contributed,” Vodafone Qatar said.
Vodafone Qatar has extended the offer to allow customers to get special phone numbers until December 31.
“Our purpose of ‘Making a difference for all people in Qatar’ is what drives us. By extending this offer and allowing our customers to continue reserving one-of-a-kind numbers at half price, we are always giving customers more, and at the same time continuing to support charity,” said Daniel Horan, director of Vodafone Qatar’s Consumer Business Unit.
In addition to this popular offering, Vodafone also announced that all customers who sign up for a new ‘Freedom’ account online up to January 2, 2010 will also have the chance to win one of four HTC Magic Android phones from Vodafone Qatar, who will be giving away one each week. Customers have a chance to win with each new SIM card activated on Freedom.
“Setting up a new Freedom account has always been easy with Vodafone’s Online Store. Now our customers can win a great phone while they do it,” Horan said.
