Vodafone Qatar has deployed Twitter for Mobile with enhanced security features. Users can now safely sign up for the Twitter SMS service by sending ON to 92828 and link their Vodafone mobile number to their Twitter account. Twitter for Mobile is available by accessing the “Mobile” section under ‘Settings’ on a Twitter website account. This SMS-service enables users to send Tweets and get text notifications from Twitter including direct messages; new followers; mentions and replies; retweets; favourite tweets; and tweet alerts. Users can also choose the option to highly secure their Twitter account by receiving an SMS with a login verification code which they will need to use to access their Twitter account. Mohammed Al Yami, Director of External Affairs at Vodafone Qatar, said: “We’re very happy to be able to offer our customers this secure platform with Twitter. The two-step verification approach ensures a worry-free experience for our customers and strongly protects their data.” To activate the two-step login verification security feature, users will need to register a verified mobile number for their website account. Twitter users need to visit the Twitter website and enter their Vodafone mobile number into the “Mobile” section of “Settings”, click the “Security” tab and select “Send Log-in Verification Request”. All SMS notifications received by the customer via Twitter are free of charge and all SMS Tweets sent by the customer will be charged at 39 Dirhams per SMS. - ILQ News -
